CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL SENSORS
We are intersted in optical based sensors, in particular, nanostructured metal based optical sensors. We use two general principles based on nanometallic structures to develop our sensors: localized surface plasmon resonance and surface enhanced Raman scattering. Our research focus on (1) developing new nOctober 19, 2011; (2) understanding the fundmental physical/chemical process for the sensors; (3) integrating sensor to different analysis devices or instruments; and (4) applying sensors for practical applications, such as diagnostics, food safety test, enviromental monitoting, national security, etc.
