Mr. Justin Abell received the 2012 Graduate Research Award from the American Vacuum Society. Prof. Yiping Zhao received the Nanoengineering Pioneer Award from 2012 SPIE Defense, Security and Sensing meeting, Conference 8401. Mr. Cameron Brown received the Outstanding Undergraduate 2012 Award by the American Chemical Society local section. Mr. Yizhuo He received the 2012 Physics Department Outstanding Early Graduate Student Award – The Anderson Pioletti Award. Mr. Ryan Toole received the 2012 Ted. L. Simons Award from UGA Physics Department. Mr. Justin Abell received the 2012 B. P. Verma Leadership Award from UGA Engineering . Mr. George Larson has been selected by the Scientific Review Panel of the Lindau Council to participate the 60th Interdisciplinary Meeting of Nobel Laureates from July 1 to July 6, 2012, at Lindau, Germany. Mr. John Gibbs received the 2011 Graduate Research Award from the American Vacuum Society. Mr. John Gibbs received the 2011 Sean M. Mr. John Gibbs has been selected by the Scientific Review Panel of the Lindau Council to participate the 60th Interdisciplinary Meeting of Nobel Laureates from June 27 to July 2, 2010, at Lindau, Germany. Miss Whitney Ingram won First place in the category of Mathematics and Physical Sciences in the Oral presentation, and Second place in the category of Matnematics and Physical Sciences in the poster presenation at the 4th Annual Fall National Symposium and Research Conference of Peach State Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (or PSLSAMP) (2009, Fort Valley State University). Mr. Yongjun Liu received the 2009 Graduate Research Award from the American Vacuum Society at the AVS 56th International Symposium& Exhibition in San Jose. Mr. Justin Abell received a 2009 travel scholarship for the NANO-DDS meeting
organized by Department of Defense.Mr. John Gibbs received a 2009 travel assistantship from National Science Foundation to participate the NSF CMMI annual grantee meeting in Hawaii. Dr. Yiping Zhao received the 2009 Creative Research Medal of University of Georgia. Mr. Yongjun Liu received the 2009 Sean M. Miss Whitney Ingram won the first place for the poster presentation in the category of Physics in FGLSAMP (Florida-Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation) National Conference in Miami, Florida (2008). Miss Junxue Fu received the 2008 Departmental Outstanding Research Asistant Award. Mr. Zhongyue Zhang received the 2008 Departmental Outstanding Research Asistant Award. Mr. Wilson Smith was selected to participate the 58th Meeting of Nobel Prize Winners in Physics from June 29th to July 4th 2008 in Lindau, Germany Dr. Jianguo Fan received the 2008 excellence in research by the Gradutate Student Award, University of Georgia Mr. Jianguo Fan received the 2007 Dorothy M. and Earl S. Hoffman Scholarship from the American Vacuum Society at the AVS 54th International Symposium& Exhibition in Seattle, one of the five top-level named graduate student awards for the AVS annual meeting. Dr. Yuping He was selected as a recipient of a 2007 Outstanding Young Researcher Award by the Thin Film Dinision of the American Vacuum Society.
