Water Contact Angles on Nanostructures Thin Films

The combination of nanotechnology and biotechnology, known as nano-biotechnology, has attracted much research attention lately. One important aspect of the research is the interfacial properties between nanostructured materials and liquids (body fluid, blood, etc.). In this project, the REU student will have a chance to learn a novel method to prepare nanostructured thin films, and to perform measurements of water contact angles on different types of nanostructures thin films. The student will also perform analysis on how the structure of the thin film affects the contact angle.
