Electrodeposition of Semiconductors

Here we work in collaboration with the chemistry department. Prof. Stickney in Chemistry uses atomic layer epitaxy to deposit semiconductors like InAs or CdTe one atomic layer at a time. In principle, he has control of the deposition process with atomic layer deposition. This has certain advantages when it comes to producing heterostructures or multiple quantum wells. Here you would characterize the deposits using luminescence, Raman spectroscopy, FIR spectroscopy, x-rays STM/AFM.
