We use modern femtosecond/picosecond time-resolved
spectroscopy to study structural and dynamical properties of molecular
building blocks. Currently our research focuses on the following areas:
Biophysics:
- Photostability
of biomolecular building blocks
- Small
molecule photoactivation of biological functions
- Development
of novel techniques for biomolecular spectrocopy

Molecular Electronics:
- Characterization
and control of photoswitchable molecules
- Charge-transfer
processes

Ab initio quantum mechanical calculations:
- Ab initio calculations for
interpretation of our experimental data
