NEW STUDENTS:

We are currently seeking motivated and dedicated graduate students.

We use modern femtosecond/picosecond time-resolved spectroscopy to study structural and dynamical properties of molecular building blocks. Currently our research focuses on the following areas:

Biophysics:

  • Photostability of biomolecular building blocks
  • Small molecule photoactivation of biological functions
  • Development of novel techniques for biomolecular spectrocopy

Molecular Electronics:

  • Characterization and control of photoswitchable molecules
  • Charge-transfer processes

Ab initio quantum mechanical calculations:

  • Ab initio calculations for interpretation of our experimental data
