Two-body interactions in atomic condensates are usually dominated by short-range s-wave collisions. Nevertheless, systems with large dipolar interactions can be found. Due to the long-range and anisotropic nature of the dipolar interaction, dipolar condensates possess many unique properties. In this talk, I will focus on two topics. 1) Novel vortex structure of a polarized dipolar condensate and 2) dipolar effects in spinor condensates.
