Next SPS Meeting - To Be Announced

LASER!!!
We are ready to get started on the laser project. All we need a start date. It would be terrific if everyone seriously interested in helping would give some input. We now have a forum, so offer some suggestions and hopefully we will be able to come up with some dates that please everyone.

Information on the project: This project is going to be quite involved. The kit for the CO2 laser we hope to build is around $700 (since we have no money, we won't be doing that) which means we have to build from scratch. This is going to take a lot of time since we will have to do the machining ourselves, but will be a good learning experience. It is estimated that we will need at least a couple of weekends, so it would be great if everyone could contribute at least 1 full day.

APS Membership: The American Physical Society (APS) offers 1-year free student memberships for those who have never been a member. Benefits offered to students include Physics Today and APS News, free online APS journals, discounted Geico auto insurance, and more. The regular student membership rate is $26 for those who have been members before. Visit the APS website for more information.
