Integrate Nanostructures into Biosensors

One unique feature of nanostructure is that it has enormous surface areas. By incorporating nanostructure into chemical or biological sensors, one can greatly enhance the sensitivity and stability of those sensors. In this project, we will integrate nanostructures into micro-glucose sensor for diabetes treatment. Students will have a chance to expose to both nanofabrication and microfabrication processes (recently we have also established new microfabrication facilities (class 100 cleanroom) at Driftmier Engineering Center), and have the capability to perform microfabrication., and will learn the fundamental knowledge on the principle of glucose sensors.
